About the Event

HELP US SAVE LIVES!

  • Chicago is experiencing record numbers of opioid overdose, many of them due to an opioid called fentanyl.

  • Fentanyl and Xylazine test kits help people stay safe and prevent overdose.

  • Assemble test kits, receive Narcan training (a medicine to reverse overdose), learn about MAR Now Program, and 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline to empower and keep our communities safe

About Our Organization

The Southside Heroin Opioid Task Force is comprised of community-based agencies (CBO), health care providers, and governmental agencies to address the opioid epidemic facing men, women, and children on the Southside of Chicago, resulting in increasing deaths. We're here to ensure that the South Side region of Chicago works together to help reduce opioid and substance use and mental health disorders, prevent overdose deaths, and improve the quality of life in our community. Funding provided in whole or in part by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery through the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.

The Southside Heroin Opioid Task Force meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..
