State Convener Hunter believes in connecting individuals and their families with practical resources to help address this crisis and reinforce that overdoses can be prevented when support and care are within reach.

SFT Black Healers Forum 2026

At the 2026 Black Healers Forum, STF gathered together with other Black behavioral health professionals, advocates, and healers to focused on substance use and rebuilding the community.

About Our Organization

The Southside Heroin Opioid Task Force is comprised of community-based agencies (CBO), health care providers, and governmental agencies to address the opioid epidemic facing men, women, and children on the Southside of Chicago, resulting in increasing deaths. We're here to ensure that the South Side region of Chicago works together to help reduce opioid and substance use and mental health disorders, prevent overdose deaths, and improve the quality of life in our community. Funding provided in whole or in part by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery through the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.

The Southside Heroin Opioid Task Force meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..
