Làng mai Bình Lợi – niềm tự hào của nông dân TP.HCM đứng trước nguy cơ mất trắng
Những ngày cuối tháng 10/2025, làng nghề mai vàng Bình Lợi – được mệnh danh là “thủ phủ mai vàng” của TP.HCM – đang chìm trong biển nước. Hàng nghìn gốc mai trị giá hàng tỷ đồng ngập sâu nhiều ngày liền, khiến người dân lao đao, đứng ngồi không yên khi Tết Nguyên đán Bính Ngọ 2026 đang cận kề, trong khi đâu đó những hình ảnh hoa mai vàng đẹp nhất từng rực rỡ một thời nay đượm buồn giữa làn nước đục.
Làng mai Bình Lợi, thuộc xã Bình Lợi, vốn được biết đến là nơi cung cấp lượng lớn mai vàng cho thị trường TP.HCM và các tỉnh lân cận mỗi dịp Tết đến xuân về. Thế nhưng, trong đợt triều cường kết hợp mưa lớn và xả lũ từ hồ Dầu Tiếng vừa qua, vùng đất trù phú này đang chịu thiệt hại nặng nề nhất trong nhiều năm trở lại đây.
Ông Trần Tứ Vương, Chủ tịch HĐQT Hợp tác xã mai vàng Bình Lợi, cho biết tình trạng ngập diễn ra trên diện rộng và kéo dài nhiều ngày liền. “Nước lên nhanh, lại không rút kịp, khiến hàng nghìn gốc mai ngập trong nước. Đây là thời điểm cây mai đang vào giai đoạn chăm sóc cuối cùng để chuẩn bị ra hoa Tết, nếu ngập kéo dài thì nguy cơ mất trắng là rất cao,” ông Vương nói.
Nỗi lo “mất trắng” trước thềm Tết
Theo người trồng mai ở Bình Lợi, chỉ cần ngập từ 7 đến 10 ngày là rễ cám của cây bắt đầu bị thối, sau đó lan dần đến phần gốc. Với những cây mai nhỏ, thời gian chịu ngập còn ngắn hơn – chỉ 3 ngày đã có thể chết hoàn toàn.
Anh Nguyễn Văn Thông, một hộ trồng hơn 500 gốc mai, chia sẻ: “Tôi đầu tư gần 2 tỷ đồng cho vụ mai năm nay, bao nhiêu công sức, vốn liếng đổ vào đây. Giờ nước ngập hết, nhiều cây đã bắt đầu rụng lá, thối gốc. Nếu không bơm rút kịp thì Tết này coi như mất trắng.”
Nhiều hộ dân đã mua máy bơm công suất lớn để xả nước ra ngoài, song lượng nước quá nhiều khiến việc tiêu thoát diễn ra rất chậm. Một số hộ tính toán, phải mất ít nhất 10 ngày bơm liên tục mới có thể làm khô vườn. Tuy nhiên, với dự báo triều cường còn tiếp diễn, họ gần như bất lực.

Chính quyền khẩn trương hỗ trợ, tìm giải pháp cứu mai
Trước tình hình thiệt hại nghiêm trọng, Hội Nông dân xã Bình Lợi cùng Ủy ban MTTQ Việt Nam xã đã trực tiếp xuống các khu vực bị ngập để động viên người dân và thống kê thiệt hại. Nhiều máy bơm đã được chính quyền địa phương đặt tại các điểm thoát nước nông thôn, hoạt động hết công suất suốt ngày đêm nhằm giảm bớt ngập úng.
Tuy vậy, do hệ thống thủy lợi xuống cấp nặng, việc thoát nước vẫn gặp nhiều khó khăn. Người dân đề nghị UBND xã Bình Lợi và các cơ quan chức năng sớm sửa chữa, nâng cấp các cống thoát nước đã hư hỏng như cống kênh Tràm Lầy 1 (ấp 3) và cống kênh Chà Chìm (ấp 1) – hai vị trí được xem là “nút thắt cổ chai” khiến nước không thoát kịp.
Chính quyền xã cũng kiến nghị UBND TP.HCM xem xét hỗ trợ xây dựng bờ bao tạm tại đoạn đường liên ranh khu B (ấp 1), nhằm ngăn nước tràn vào khu vực dân cư, bảo vệ hơn 40 ha đất nông nghiệp và 50 hộ dân trồng lúa, nuôi cá, đồng thời hạn chế ảnh hưởng lan sang các vườn mai lân cận.
Sở Nông nghiệp TP.HCM vào cuộc
Ngày 27/10, Sở Nông nghiệp và Môi trường TP.HCM đã có báo cáo tổng hợp về tình hình ảnh hưởng của đợt triều cường cuối tháng 10/2025 trên địa bàn. Theo đó, nhiều khu vực ngoại thành bị ngập sâu, trong đó Bình Lợi là một trong những điểm chịu ảnh hưởng nặng nhất.
Sở yêu cầu các đơn vị chủ đầu tư như Ban Quản lý dự án Hạ tầng đô thị, Ban Quản lý dự án Giao thông và Công ty TNHH MTV Quản lý khai thác dịch vụ Thủy lợi TP.HCM đẩy nhanh tiến độ thi công, chủ động triển khai các biện pháp chống ngập tạm thời tại các khu vực đã bàn giao mặt bằng nhưng chưa kịp khởi công.
Trong quá trình thi công, các đơn vị phải bố trí lực lượng túc trực thường xuyên, sử dụng đê quây, chặn dòng và dẫn dòng hợp lý để hạn chế ngập úng, đảm bảo an toàn sản xuất và đời sống người dân. Đồng thời, UBND các phường, xã được yêu cầu rà soát những điểm xung yếu, gia cố bờ bao, chuẩn bị phương án ứng phó cho các đợt triều cường sắp tới – đặc biệt là giai đoạn cận Tết Nguyên đán Bính Ngọ 2026.
Gắn kết du lịch để nâng cao giá trị làng nghề
Giữa khó khăn, người dân Bình Lợi vẫn đặt niềm tin vào tương lai phát triển của làng nghề. Cuối năm 2024, nghề trồng mai vàng Bình Lợi chính thức được UBND TP.HCM công nhận là làng nghề truyền thống, được hưởng các chính sách hỗ trợ theo Nghị định 52/2018 của Chính phủ về phát triển ngành nghề nông thôn.
Đây là bước ngoặt quan trọng giúp nông dân Bình Lợi tiếp cận nguồn vốn ưu đãi, mở rộng sản xuất và định hướng phát triển du lịch sinh thái – làng nghề. Chính quyền xã đang triển khai nhiều giải pháp nhằm gắn kết hoạt động trồng mai với du lịch trải nghiệm, qua đó nâng cao giá trị thương hiệu “Mai vàng Bình Lợi”.
Theo kế hoạch, trong thời gian tới, địa phương sẽ xây dựng các tuyến tham quan vườn mai, kết hợp với hoạt động trưng bày, hướng dẫn chăm sóc và tạo dáng cây cảnh. Mục tiêu là biến Bình Lợi không chỉ là nơi cung cấp mai Tết, mà còn trở thành điểm đến hấp dẫn của du khách mỗi dịp xuân về.
Hy vọng sau cơn ngập
Dù hiện tại, người dân Bình Lợi đang phải vật lộn với nước ngập, nhưng tinh thần vượt khó và niềm tin vào nghề truyền thống vẫn cháy bỏng. Nhiều chủ vườn cho biết họ sẽ cố gắng cứu từng gốc mai, bằng mọi cách để kịp hồi phục trước Tết.
“Chúng tôi chỉ mong nước rút sớm để còn chăm lại cây, còn hy vọng là còn làm. Người trồng mai phải kiên trì, bởi mai không chỉ là cây cảnh, mà là cái Tết, là sinh kế, là niềm tự hào của cả làng,” ông Trần Tứ Vương chia sẻ.
Dẫu khó khăn vẫn còn trước mắt, người dân Bình Lợi tin rằng, với sự chung tay của chính quyền và cộng đồng, những gốc mai vàng vẫn sẽ nở rực rỡ trong mùa xuân sắp tới – như biểu tượng cho tinh thần bền bỉ và niềm tin của người nông dân TP.HCM.
